Wordless Wednesday - Joshua Tree Blossoms with Linky

Today I am sharing some Joshua Tree blossoms right outside my home.
Click any picture to see it larger.

This last picture shows this year's blossom with what is left of last year's.
When the seed pods are fully mature, the ground squirrels will pillage them.  At the bottom of the Joshua Tree, the Mojave Green Rattlesnake waits for the squirrels to make a meal for themselves.

Disney Pixar Brave Coming to Theaters June 22

Disney Pixar Brave will be opening on June 22.  We are all waiting for this one to come out.  The animation looks splendid, and the storyline sounds inviting.

The only thing I would like to know is how can she keep all that lovely red hair from getting into her face.  Ah, but that must be a Disney Pixar secret.

Marvelous Music Monday -- Snuggle

The theme from Xmas Dolly's Hop today is commercials.
I decided to go with Snuggle.

First, since this is Marvelous Music Monday, I do need some music.
Here is the Snuggle Song from a promo tape that Snuggle Fabric Softener sent out in the 80's.  We had gotten it for our kids, and I still love the song as much as they do.
Now for some Snuggle Commercials
And another featuring Snuggle! But watch for the twist in this one.

All right.  I had my fun for the day.  I hope you have a great one, too!

If you liked this, please share it.  Thank you!

Silly Saturday Laughs for Feb. 25

Time for some Saturday Silliness!

For all those parents who are watchful of who their daughters date, here is the application for you.

Watch the ball!
(You might have to wait for this to load)

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...

The next year, I didn’t buy her a gift.

When she asked me why, I replied,

“Well, you still haven’t used the gift I bought you last year!”

And that’s how the fight started.....

I took my wife to a restaurant.

The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.

“I’ll have the rump steak, rare, please.”

He said, “Aren’t you worried about the mad cow?”

“Nah, she can order for herself.”

And that’s when the fight started.....

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn’t run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, making beer.. Always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point.

When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again
I handed her a toothbrush. I said, “When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway.”

The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

My wife sat down next to me as I was flipping channels.

She asked, “What’s on TV?”

I said, “Dust.”

And then the fight started...

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.

She said, “I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds.”

I bought her a bathroom scale.

And then the fight started......

I'm in a hurry. I'll take a glazed, maple bar, and a jelly donut.

Fun Feature Friday -- Tom & Jerry in His Mouse Friday

Theatrical Thursday -- FRANKENWEENIE Arrives in Theatres Everywhere on October 5th

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.

In Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.

•    When Tim Burton originally conceived the idea for “Frankenweenie,” he envisioned it as a full-length, stop-motion animated film. Due to budget constraints, he instead directed it as a live-action short, released in 1984.
•    “Frankenweenie” follows in the footsteps of Tim Burton’s other stop-motion animated films “Corpse Bride” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”—both of which were nominated for Academy Awards®.
•    Over 200 puppets and sets were created for the film.
•    The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (“Beetlejuice,” “Edward Scissorhands”), Catherine O’Hara (“Beetlejuice,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas”), Martin Short (“Mars Attacks!”) and Martin Landau (“Ed Wood,” Sleepy Hollow”).
•    Several of the character names—Victor, Elsa Van Helsing, Edgar “E” Gore and Mr. Burgemeister— were inspired by classic horror films.

Marvelous Music Monday -- The Truth After Valentine's

Since I was sick in bed last week, and wasn't able to link up, I am still in a bit of a Valentine mood.

Let's hear a few songs about what happens after the Valentine's have fallen.

Hey Brother, Pour the Wine by Dean Martin

Now the classic...Frankie and Johnny
sung by Louis Armstrong
As incredible as it might seem, this song is based on a true story. On October 15, 1899, 22-year-old Frankie Baker shot 17-year-old Albert Britt to death at 212 Targee Street in St. Louis, Mo. The shooting apparently was over another woman, Alice Pryor. The following night, Bill Dooley, a black pianist and songwriter composed "Frankie and Albert," a ballad which would later become famous as "Frankie & Johnny."

What do you think of my after Valentine songs?
