REVIEW: 2-in-1 Recycler from Rubbermaid

Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler: The Solution to Your Recycling Needs
For over seventy years Rubbermaid has been making products to help us simplify our lives.  Leave it up to Rubbermaid to come up with the 2-in-1 Recycler
The 2-in-1 Recycler makes recycling easy! This two-unit bin allows you to either contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort recyclables. The top unit is perfect for collecting recyclables and has a fold away handle that makes it easy to take out and empty into your recycling bin. The lower bin tilts out for easy access, and holds an 8 gallon trash bag in place with the Liner Lock™ system. Alternatively, you can use the lower bin to sort another type of recyclable and carry it out with the built-in handles.

This is such a handy unit.  It is a perfect solution for containing waste and recycling all in one location or for just sorting your recyclables.  The 2-in-1 keeps recyclables off the counter by giving them a place to live in your kitchen.  The bottom tilt out bin (7.4 gallons) holds a standard 8-gallon trash bag and features Liner Lock™ bag management, so your bag stays put and does not slip.

Both the top bin and bottom bin have convenient handles when needed to transport recyclables to wherever your recycling is stored for pick-up or for transport.  It is perfect for multi-stream or single stream recycling.

The 2-in-1 Recycler fits more recyclables while using 25% less floor space compared to typical divided containers.  The lid is removable, and it has fold away handles.  It is made of recyclable materials, and is recyclable.

My take on the Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler.

It really does make my recycling much more easier.  I love how I can get items sorted and all ready to go downtown to our local recycling drop-off.  The handles make it so easy to transport to the car, and I love how they fold away and out of the way.  The bar on the bottom is so easy to open with the touch of my foot.  It just pops right open, and my hands never have to touch it.  Makes for a little better sanitation in my kitchen.  It is so easy to clean, just rinses right out after I get home.  Since I have limited space in my kitchen, with the 2-in-1 Recycler's slim design, it fits in so well, and stays out of the way.

My husband and I have been brainstorming on different uses for the Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler, and came up with several ideas.  It could be used as a clothes hamper where the top section could be used for your handwashables, and the lower part for your regular wash.  Another use could be as a toy box for your child. Even another use could be for gardening.  The top part could be used for small gardening tools, while the bottom could be used for bagged garden soil.

  4. This would be so handy to have in my kitchen. My kids just stack their cans by the kitchen sink and I'm always reminding them to put their papers in the recycling also.
Having one place in the kitchen would be very helpful.
Anyway I would love to try this out in my home. I also like the Rubbermaid Bento line of organizers, they look very stylish for indoor use and I am a huge fan of the Roughneck storage totes for use in our shed for holiday decorations, hurricane supplies, etc.

  17. I need 12 Clever Store Premium Latch - Clear Lid in the 36 Quart Size. This summer I am working for a program called Smart Lunch, Smart Kid in Georgia that is feeding underprivileged children. We need containers that size to put the lunches in that we are sending out with the volunteers to give out to the children. We are also using them to collect supplies we will need for the summer.
