2012 #Holiday Gift Guide - Beautiful Fall and Holiday Jewelry at Mary Morris Jewelry on Etsy - Review & Giveaway - ends 11/14 WW

Many of you know that I love jewelry, and I love finding new masterpieces to spruce up myself with.  I found a wonderful Etsy shop that has all the colors of the rainbow: Mary Morris Jewelry.  What a selection that she has that is just a feast for the eyes.  I found iridescent earrings, crocheted wire necklaces, and what thrilled me most, was the real leaf jewelry!

Mary Morris fashions real gold, silver, and copper dipped leaves into lovely necklaces and earrings.  Her Real Leaf Jewelry is fabulous! When I first came upon these wonders, I was hooked on the lovely Iridescent Copper Oak Leaf Necklace.

It is simply beautiful!  It is perfect for my fall wardrobe.  I have been wearing it everywhere, and the complements that I have been getting are fabulous.  Everyone wants to know where I bought this, for they haven't seen this before in the stores.  I told them that it is a handmade one-of-a-kind pendant, and that it is a real Oak Leaf dipped in copper and then a iridescent sheen is added to make it stand out.  Yet, they are lucky, because if the wanted to get one, there are others at the Mary Morris's Etsy Shop.

Mary Morris has a vast selection of alluring jewelry that can be worn anytime of the year.  I love so many of her items.  I really would love to get the earrings that match my Oak Leaf Necklace.  Not only does Marry Morris work with copper dipped leaves, but gold and silver, too, in Japanese Maple, Laurel, Birch, Aspen, and more!

At Mary Morris' shop, she also has a lovely variety of cascading earrings.  You will be able to find some charming dangles that will go with any outfit.

Here's a real sweetheart of a pair!  These freshwater earrings and necklace, sold separately, would make any girl crave them.

All of Mary's freshwater pearl jewelry is just a delight for the eyes!  These Red, Pink, and White Cluster earrings would be perfect for Christmas.

I was also quite pleased with the pricing that Mary has set for her elegant jewelry.  The Iridescent Copper Oak Leaf Necklace was moderately priced at only $25!  This necklace comes with a copper chain is 18 inches long with a lobster claw clasp. It adjusts to 18 1/2 inches with additional loops accented with a Swarovski crystal dangle.  This necklace is going to be gracing my neck on Thanksgiving!  Wouldn't the Iridescent Copper Oak Leaf Earrings make this the perfect Thanksgiving set?

Wordless Wednesday - Happy Halloween - October 31, 2012

Happy Halloween to All!

This picture is the cute little Lego figure that my son got at Toys R Us this past weekend.

It reminds me of a current movie character, but after he has passed away, of course.

Do you think you can guess who I am thinking of?

How to Plant a Fall Bulb Garden with Miracle-Gro® and the #Gardenieres

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I want the most beautiful fall garden that I can achieve.  In order to do this, I need to find the best information that I can find.  The absolute best source for fall gardening comes from Miracle-Gro and the Gardenieres.

(1) Miracle-Gro

Who are the Gardenieres?  Picked by Marster Gardener William Moss, these are four people who have the working knowledge to achieve great gardens in all parts of the country.  Being real life garden enthusiasts, they are there to help us to get our neighborhood gardens to be their best!
It's fall, and since I live on the west coast, it has always been an ambition of mine to have a potted bulb garden like I see in the home stores.  I love the flowers that bulbs produce, but I know it is best to plant them in the fall.  I was lucky to find Gardeniere Teena Spindler showing me how to properly plant my bulb garden with several layers of bulbs.

I do have some great pots that would be perfect for this!  Now I just need to pick up some Miracle-Gro Potting Mix and some beautiful bulbs.  Miracle-Gro Potting Mix is perfect for this project.  It will fertilze my new bulb garden for up to six months.  I love how it is made with rich organic materials that is safe for my new potted garden, and will also create a good strong root base for my bulbs.  I already know that daffodils are on my list since the rabbits and ground squirrels around my home don't like to eat them.  For my top layer of bulbs, I think I will go with a Dutch Iris.  The purple of the Dutch Iris will complement the yellow of the Daffodils nicely.

Find beauty in the Fall with Miracle-Gro. If you would like to share stories, tips, photos, and ideas with fellow gardeners, head on over to Miracle-Gro Facebook page, "Like" them, and start sharing!  I will be looking forward to reading your thoughts on gardening.

Serene Sunday - Chopin's Funeral March - October 28, 2012

To get you into more of the Halloween mood...
Some say that it is a bit bone chilling, but I believe it is a lovely piece.
If you have never listened to this in its entirety, you will find some angelic music in the middle.

In a book that I read some years ago by Carl Sandburg, there was this little song to go with the first few bars of the melody.

Where will we all be one hundred years from now?
Where will we all be one hundred years from now?
Pushing up the daisies,
Pushing up the daisies.
That's where we'll all be one hundred years from now!

Tomorrow, on Marvelous Music Monday, more Halloween music!

Silly Saturday - Halloween Fun - October 27, 2012

Halloween is nearly upon us!

A photographer goes to a haunted castle determined to get a picture of a ghost. The ghost he encounters turns out to be friendly and poses for a snapshot. The happy photographer dashes to his studio, develops the film and…learns that the photos are underexposed and completely blank.

Moral to the story: The spirit is willing, but the flash is weak.
A vampire joined the police force so he could learn the correct way to get a stakeout.

The ghost was lonely because he didn't have a ghoulfriend

Who do they call when a demon needs a personal trainer? The exercist

Hall o' wiener: when I decorated my foyer with sausage.

Pumpkin juice + Chardonnay = Hallow'ine?

We all know about the rash of unexplained deaths in the village of Sleepy Hollow.
But, as an unfortunate sidebar, to deal with all the corpses was a most incompetent funeral director,
nicknamed the Heedless Hearseman.

Do posh demons go cruising in a coupe devil

Some prefer getting candy on Halloween, but two days later I like to go out and collect shoes. I call it All Soles Day

The wandering minstrel was excited about trick-or-treating. He said, “I hear there's gonna be lute!”

My house is haunted by the ghosts of a thousand chickens. It's just like that movie, Poultrygeist.

The Irishman was visited by a ghost while making moonshine. "I can't sleep at night," the man said, "it haunts me still. " (Irish accent needed)

You hear about the play they staged in a cemetery? It got grave reviews.

Don't bother inviting the Invisible Man to your Halloween party.
He won't show up. Sometimes he makes excuses, but they're all transparent.

One witch told another witch, "I want one of those new computers that has a spell checker."
