Silly Saturday for June 30, 2012

It's the last day of June.  Let's celebrate with a little silliness!
No matter how hard we try to get it.
The big dog always takes it away from us!

Ten best caddy responses......

Number :10
Golfer: “I think I’m going to drown myself in the lake.”
Caddy: “Think you can keep your head down that long?”

Number : 9
Golfer: “I’d move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course.”
Caddy: “Try heaven, you’ve already moved most of the earth.”

Number : 8
Golfer: “Do you think my game is improving?”
Caddy: “Yes . . . . You miss the ball much closer now.”

Number : 7
Golfer: “Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?”
Caddy: “Eventually.”

Number : 6
Golfer: “You’ve got to be the worst caddy in the world.”
Caddy: “I don’t think so . . . .That would be too much of a coincidence.”

Number : 5
Golfer: “Please stop checking your watch all the time. It’s too much of a distraction.”
Caddy: “It’s not a watch - it’s a compass.”

Number : 4
Golfer: “How do you like my game?”
Caddy: “It’s very good - but personally, I prefer golf.”

Number : 3
Golfer: “Do you think it’s a sin to play on Sunday?
Caddy: “The way you play, it’s a sin on any day.”

Number : 2
Golfer: “This is the worst course I’ve ever played on.”
Caddy: “This isn’t the golf course . . . . We left that an hour ago.”

And the Number : 1 . . . . Best Caddy Comment:
Golfer: “That can’t be my ball, it’s too old.”
Caddy: “It’s been a long time since we teed off, sir.”

Einstein MIMOBOT Flash Drive: REVIEW and GIVEAWAY 7/20 US

I recently received from Mimoco the Einstein MIMOBOT 4GB Flash Drive to review.  Being a homeschooling family, and now, with most in college, a portable drive to store documents, pictures, and/or music is a must.

How much can this Mimoco Einstein MIMOBOT 4GB hold?  I found out that it can hold approximently 1000 MP3 or 2200 7 megapixel JPG images.  For a portable storage device, that well serves our needs.  It is easy and fas to load documents, music, and pictures.  Since school is out for the summer, right now music is being loaded on to the flash drive for my daughter's car stereo.  The music plays great from it.  We are so very happy with this flash drive.

We were pleasantly surprised with getting the Einstein MIMOBOT.  Since we do have a budding physicist in our family, Einstein was well received.  As my daughter told me, Einstein's theories, including E=mc2, helped to form the basis of the development of the atomic bomb.  Einstein, himself, was a pacifist, and was not involved in the atomic bomb, just his theories were.

The Einstein MIMOBOT gives us the two sides of Albert Einstein.  With the cap on the flash drive, we see the serious physicist, the one who leading physicists voted as the "greatest physicist ever" in 1999.  With the cap off, we get the fun side of Albert.  On Albert Einstein's 72nd birthday, he was getting tired of taking pictures.  So for one, he just stuck out his tongue.  It has become one of the most popular images of Einstein ever taken.

There are also bonuses included on this flash drive for your enjoyment.  It includes wallpapers for your phone, iPad, and computer, screensavers, icons, avatars, for both PC and MAC.

Thanks to Mimoco, one person is going to receive the same Einstein MOMOBOT 4GB Flash Drive ($22.95 value) that I reviewed.  This giveaway will end on July 20, 2012, and is open only to residents of the USA.

Theatrical Thurdsday for June 28, 2012: Kids-In-Mind & Rise of the Guardians

Kids-In-Mind

Have you ever been surprised when going to a movie to find something in it that you don't want your child to see?  Then head on over to Kids-In-Mind before you head to the theater.  It is a site that we frequently go to to find what is in movies.  When I say what is in movies, I mean how much sex is in it, how much profanity, how much violence and gore.

Here is an example.  We have all heard of Brave that recently came out.  Now, I am not going to go see it because there are men's bare buttocks shown.  That is not something that I want my children to see.  It is partial computer animated nudity.  I did not know that it had bare buttocks, or I would never have blogged about it from the beginning.  There was a great message associated with Brave, cherishing your family and traditions.  It has a wonderful storyline. Yet, I am glad to know something about it before I am surprised at the theater. (Brave on Kids-In-Mind)

If you wish to know what you will be seeing in a movie before you go, check out Kids-In-Mind.  (I was not paid for this post.)

Rise of the Guardians

An epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost - legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere... Legends Unite !

Coming to theaters November 21, 2012

Starring: Chris Pine (Jack Frost), Alec Baldwin (North), Hugh Jackman (Bunnymund), Isla Fisher (Tooth Fairy), Jude Law (Pitch)

Church Ladies With Typewriters — again
These sentences (with all the BLOOPERS) actually appeared in church bulletins
or were announced in church services:
The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.

The sermon this morning: ‘Jesus Walks on the Water.’
The sermon tonight: ‘Searching for Jesus.’

Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance
to get rid of those things not worth keeping around
the house. Bring your husbands.

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community.
Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say ‘Hell’ to someone
who doesn’t care much about you.

Don’t let worry kill you off - let the Church help.

Miss Charlene Mason sang ‘I will not pass this way again,’
giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

For those of you who have children and don’t know it,
we have a nursery downstairs.

Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir.
They need all the help they can get.

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on
October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship
that began in their school days.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in
the church hall. Music will follow..

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic
will be ‘What Is Hell?’ Come early and listen to
our choir practice.

Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to
the addition of several new members and to the
deterioration of some older ones.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other
items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to
cripple children.

Please place your donation in the envelope along
with the deceased person you want remembered..

The church will host an evening of fine dining,
super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and
medication to follow.

The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing
of every kind. They may be seen in the basement
on Friday afternoon.

This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing
in the park across from the Church. Bring a blanket
and come prepared to sin.

Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at
10 AM . All ladies are invited to lunch in the
Fellowship Hall after the B. S. Is done.

The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the
Congregation would lend him their electric girdles
for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.

Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at
7 PM . Please use the back door.

The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare’s
Hamlet in the Church basement Friday at 7 PM . The
congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First
Presbyterian Church Please use large double door
at the side entrance.

Garfield's Birthday had a birthday this last week...

We love the Pillsbury Baguette Chips.  We tried them with a variety of foods from salads, to soups, and we dipped them, too.  They go great with sandwiches, and with the lower fat content, we feel better with getting that extra crunch that we desire.  We made our usual loaded baked potatoes, and crumbled these on top.  It turned our side dish into something very special.

Both of the varieties are very good.  Not one of the seven in our home has a flavor preference.

Stay connected with Pillsbury through their website, Facebook, and Twitter.  Don't forget to get your $0.75 coupon.

My many thanks to My Blog Spark and to Pillsbury  for offering one of my readers the same Pillsbury Baguette Package that we were able to savor--Six whole packages of Pillsbury Baguette Chips--Three of the Italian Cheese & Here; and Three of the Cheddar Sun-dried Tomato.  These truly are Gourmet Snack Chips.
