Giant Microbes - Fun Gifts for Christmas - Review & Giveaway - Ends 12/17 US

Here is a great gift idea for this holiday season--Giant Microbes!

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know how I love to find items that are so unique and clever--especially for gifts.  I go out of my way to find relatives and friends gifts that are truly so different, but fun and savvy.  I believe that I have found another ingenious gift for this year.

Giant Microbes by Drew Oliver are truly inventive!  They are stuffed animals that are made to look like microbes, germs, diseases, maladies, etc.

GIANTmicrobes® are stuffed animals that look like tiny microbes — only a million times actual size! They're humorous, educational, and fun!

Each of our GIANTmicrobes® comes with an image and information about the real microbe it represents. They make great learning tools, as well as amusing gifts for anyone with a sense of humor.
It's a perfect gift for a teacher, college student, doctor, or just as a gag gift.  There are even smaller sets that make great learning toys.  I know my doctor would love one of these for his office, or even one of their ties (he does wear quirky ties every day to work!).  Giant Microbes come not only in a plush, but you can get many of their little critters in a sweet little vinyl character that comes with an animation flip book and an action pose sticker.

Paramecium and Chicken Pox

I was sent to review their new Wreath Box with five tiny microbes for our Christmas tree.  In it, I have the Stomach Ache all dressed up as a gingerbread man, the Streptococcus sore throat with a book of Christmas carols, a shimmering gold Amoeba-limited edition, the White Blood Cell as a snowman wearing a top hat, and an Angelic Nerve Cell.  All of these little guys are ready for the Christmas tree.

All of the kids really love these, and were thrilled to have them as additional ornaments for the tree.  They are cute! I love how they were packaged in the wreath box.  Giant Microbes also has the Christmas Stocking Box Ornaments and the Christmas Tree Box Ornaments filled with Christmas themed microbes that will put of tinge of fun to your Christmas Tree.  Each one of these ornament boxes sells for only $24.94.

Giant Microbes by Drew Oliver would make a truly incomparable fun gift for this holiday season!  Anyone who has a great sense of humor would have fun with these germs!  You can get a Giant Microbe or one of their Ornament sets directly from Giant Microbes on their website.  Keep up with the latest news by following Giant Microbes on Facebook and Twitter.

Giant Microbes are humorous, educational, and, best of all, they are FUN!

With many thanks to Giant Microbes, one person is going to win an original microbe of choice!  This giveaway will end on December 17, 2012 and is open to US residents only.

Smart Planet Eco Travel Mug - #HGG Review & Giveaway - Ends 12/16 US

Here is a great gift idea for stocking stuffers, gift for friends and co-workers, or for that relative that loves to take coffee or their special drink everywhere.  The Eco Travel Mug from Smart Planet.

There are travel mugs everywhere, but where do you find one that looks classy?  The Eco Travel Mug is a chic looking mug made of Double Wall Insulated Porcelain.  It will keep your drinks hot or cold.  It is the earth friendly alternative to Styrofoam, plastic, or paper cups.  It is a great 12 oz. mug that has a colorful silicone sleeve (four different colors) that provides a non-slip grip and protects your hand from the heat of your drink.  The drink though lid of the mug slides open and shut to help prevent spills.  This is a great mug that you can get as a gift or for yourself for only $9.99 at Amazon.com and it does come with the Free Super Saving Shipping that Amazon offers!

We found this mug to be great!  I love my blue silicone wrap.  It really does keep my hand cool while I am sipping my tea.  I take this mug with me when I go shopping.  I just ask for hot water anywhere to enjoy a great cut of my favorite tea.  The lid is not leak-proof.  It is only designed to help prevent spills.  The silicone sleeve really does keep the mug cool enough to handle, but be a little wary of the porcelain when you have a very hot drink.  I have kicked the paper or styrofoam cups, I have the Smart Planet Eco Travel Mug to take with me now!

Great Gift Idea for the Holidays!

With a price that is only $9.99 for a mug, this would be a great Eco-friendly gift to give at Christmas.  Get a few at Amazon today!

Kids Gift Set from Uncommon Goods - #HGG Review & Giveaway - Ends 12/16 US

While looking around for  gifts for the kids for Christmas, I always keep a wary eye out for something that just can not be found in a common large chain store.  Actually, I am a very uncommon person, and I always have been.  Every year I have challenged myself to find interesting and unique items to give to the kids for Christmas.  There is one website that is on my list, and that is Uncommon Goods.

At Uncommon Goods, there is a bountiful supply of gifts for kids that I am not going to find elsewhere, especially at my local "super" discount store downtown.  I am finding so many great items to buy for the kids at Uncommon Goods, especially stocking stuffers that can't be found anywhere else.

To help start me out with my Christmas shopping, Uncommon Goods sent me the Kid's Gift Set to review.  It's the perfect gift set for the kids.  Shh...while it is still a secret to them what this is, I will share it with you.

This wonderful gift set includes the Portable Ping Pong Set, a Tube Tots, and a Stencil and Pen Kit.  The old kids are going to get a kick out of the Portable Ping Pong Set.  It sets up in seconds on your kitchen or dining room table.   Have you always wanted to play ping pong or haven't in a long time--like me--and wanted to?  This is perfect for us.  The Portable Ping Pong Set can be taken anywhere.  It sets up in seconds ready for play.  The hubby and I had so much fun trying it out.  A portable, retractable net, adjustable paddles and two ping-pong balls comes in a drawstring pouch for easy travel and storage.  The net expands up to six feet.  The Portable Ping Pong Set sells for $39.95.  That is an excellent deal for us that can't have a real ping pong table.   I can just envision Christmas morning and see the kids monopolizing the kitchen table after Christmas breakfast to play this.

Another item that was a part of this set is a Tube Toy.  Great for children over 3, the Tube Toy is a push-along vehicles that is made from recyclable paper.  Kids will have fun assembling these fun cars, putting on the wheels and the stickers to make it just theirs.  These come in three different earth-friendly vehicles: Firetruck, Tractor, and Train. We got the firetruck, and it is a fabulous little toy.  Each Tube Toy sells for only $15.  This will be going in my youngest son's stocking, and he is going to enjoy it.  It would be a perfect stocking stuffer for your child, too!

The other toy that I received is the Stencil and Pen Kit.  What fun the kids are going to have with this!  There are two Stencil and Pen Kits--Face Box (which we got) and the Zoo Box.   Here is what each box contains:

Face Box includes:
- 2 stencils of head shapes, noses, eyes and mouths
- 1 stencil of hats, hairstyles and facial hair
- 3 fine-point felt-tip pens

Zoo Box includes:
- 2 stencils of head shapes, features, whiskers and snouts
- 1 stencil of ears, antlers and horns
- 3 fine-point felt-tip pens

I already know that there really is no age limit to this toy, but does contain small parts so it would not be a good toy for a child under 3.  Each one of these Stencil and Pen Kits cost $10.  Each and everyone of us are going to have fun making weird faces.

Uncommon Goods is just bursting with all types of gifts for the kids, here, and adults. here, for Christmas.  Sections are set aside for the girls--here, and for the boys--here, from babies to teens.  Each and every items is an item that you find at Uncommon Goods is quite unique.  This is one place that is on my shopping list to find some neat gifts and stocking stuffers!

To shop at Uncommon Goods, just head on over to their website, here.  To keep up with the latest from them, like them on Facebook, follow on Twitter, and see their latest pins on Pinterest.  Uncommon Goods has even put together a board on Pinterest called "Christmas Gift ideas -- Our 2012 Favorites."

With many thanks to Uncommon Goods, one of my readers is going to get extra gifts for the kids for Christmas--This same Kid's Gift Set that I reviewed!  This giveaway will end on December 16, 2012, and is open to US residents only.
