  5. Beautiful blossoms! It's amazing how the same plant can contain such hard and soft elements.

  10. I use to have this cactus that bloomed these gorgeous yellow flowers just like these (but yellow). I loved that Cactus had it for years. The Cactus would get these buds and then would bloom in the morning, and so beautiful, and by night the flower was dead! My daughter brought it home for me when she went to visit my mom in Vegas one year when she lived out there. I don't know the name of it, but sure wish I had another. If I find the picture I'll send it to you. Maybe you know the name. Those are beautiful - thanks for sharing!

    1. This is the wild cactus that grows here in our desert. I had transplanted it up near the house. A few years ago, we had to put it somewhere else. It just got too big for under a window that would be used as an escape route in case of an earthquake.

  11. We had a huge cactus that only bloomed at night and would die in the morning. I loved that cactus.

  15. Gorgeous blooms. The only blooms I have ever gotten on my cactus is the one that the store glues on before selling them lol.

  22. This just makes me think of how much I would love to move to Arizona. My whole family would breathe much easier if we lived out there. We live in crazy, unpredictable Indiana. :(
