#MyBlogSpark Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Prize Package Giveaway - Ends 5/11 US

Disclosure: The prize pack, information, and giveaway have been provided by General Mills and Pillsbury through MyBlogSpark.

Spring means a fresh start for everyone, including your pizza! Get your pizza fix right in your own kitchen. With Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain, you can create any fresh flavor combination you like while getting 16 grams of whole grain per serving. Share your favorite recipes using fresh, local ingredients from your farmer's market or garden. Whether you like tomatoes or spinach, fresh peppers or onions, let Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust be your canvas. Look for it in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store.

I was sent this Pizza Package from MyBlogSpark to try the new Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust made with Whole Grain ingredients.  We had everything we needed to make a fabulous pizza.  I received a VIP coupon to get one Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust, a 15.5 inch pizza pan from Farberware, a 10 piece chopping and storage set, and a silicon-grip oven mitt.

We made a super delicious Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza.  We usually make our own pizza crust from our own recipe, but Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust was surprisingly very good.  The flavor was excellent, and I felt good that I was giving my family 16 grams of whole grain for serving that they ate.  The Farberware pizza pan really cooked the pizza to perfection.  The 10 Piece Chopping Set helped us chop up some fresh onion, garlic, and the cooked Italian sausage.

Our homemade pizza was easy to prepare.  All we used was the Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain, jarred spaghetti sauce, shredded mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese, chopped cooked Italian sausage, and pepperoni.  I can't give you exact amounts because any extras just went back into the fridge.

Greek Appetizer Flatbread

Ingredients

1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated artisan pizza crust with whole grain*

2 teaspoons Greek seasoning or dried oregano leaves

3 oz fat-free cream cheese, softened (from an 8-oz package)

1 cup baby spinach leaves

1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion

1/3 cup pitted kalamata olives, cut in half

6 cherry tomatoes, cut in fourths

Directions

1 Heat oven to 400°F for dark or nonstick pan (425°F for all other pans). Spray 15x10-inch pan with sides with cooking spray.

2 Unroll dough in pan; starting at center, press dough into 15x10-inch rectangle. Bake 13 to 18 minutes or until edges of crust are golden brown.

3 In small bowl, stir Greek seasoning into cream cheese; spread over crust. Top with spinach, onion and olives. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours before serving. To serve, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Top each piece with tomato.

Expert Tips

*All breads made with at least 8 grams whole grain. At least 48 grams whole grain recommended daily.
For fresh flavor, top with 1/2 cup chopped cucumber.
Chopped or sliced ripe olives can be substituted for the kalamata olives.
For even more flavor, sprinkle with tomato-basil feta cheese.
Greek seasoning is a blend of oregano, onion powder and parsley. Look for it in the spice section of the supermarket.

My husband, a who is part Greek, suggest using Tzatziki on this, too, to give it more of an authentic Greek flavor.  Spread it over the cream cheese layer.  Tzatziki is a cool, creamy, and tangy cucumber yogurt sauce flavored with garlic.  I have seen this in the stores, or you can look online to find a recipe for it.
