CobraCo EcoLiner with Hanging Basket - Reduces Watering by 50% - Review

I received a CobraCo EcoLiner with Hanging Basket from Avant Garden Decor to facilitate with this review.

I have always wanted to grow tomatoes at my home.  The problem with growing tomatoes is that I live in a hot dry windy desert.  All of my past efforts at growing tomatoes have ended with tomato plants just trying to survive ending up just withering away.  We have 100+ degree weather, and the hot dry winds whip up here every afternoon sucking the life out of our plants or ripping them apart.  Tomatoes have always been a dream of mine to grow because I don't like what I buy at the store.  I have tried it three times since we have moved here, and all three times were unsuccessful.

I have had these tomatoes in place for a week now, and they are doing quite well!  It's even healthier looking than what it was when I first got it.  I am very encouraged with what I am seeing.  I planted these tomatoes in a CobraCo EcoLiner and Hanging Basket that I received to review from Avant Garden Decor.  I only have to water them once a day, and not twice a day as I was always forced to do with regular coco-lined hanging planters and upside-down planters.

Wondering why I grow my tomatoes in hanging planters?  One day I placed a potted tomato in my patio.  The next morning it was just a stem and some twigs lying about.  Since I live in way out in the desert with my nearest neighbor a quart of a mile away, I have too many squirrels, rabbits, and ground birds during the day, and at night, mice and rats.  They can't get too it if I hang it.

Why does the EcoLiner from CobraCo make such a big difference in my tomatoes?  It's specifically made to help retain water - even in dry conditions!  It is really doing it's job!  It's nice that I don't have to worry about watering twice a day, and I can go off shopping in the afternoon and not have to worry about my budding tomatoes.

Did you know that a coco-lined basket planter has been treated with pesticides and sprayed with latex?  I never knew that, and I had tried growing my tomatoes once in one.  Not a worry with the CobraCo EcoLiner!  This basket liner is paper mache that is made from Recycled Corrugate.  The EcoLiner is pesticide FREE!  Because of the corrugate the EcoLiner is made with, it will also retain 30% more water requiring 50% less watering than plants in a coco-lined basket.

The basket and chain is very sturdy.  It has a black finish over a rust-resistant vinyl coated steel.  Definitely made to last.  These baskets come in three sizes: 12, 14, and 16 inches.  The prices are so reasonable, too, and range between $9 to $11.   The EcoLiner and Basket are USA Made!

  6. I am always so good about watering in the beginning and then as it gets later and later into the season I tend not to do so ell. Or I have so many pots and baskets that it takes too much time. These would be so helpful. Hanging baskets tend to dry out so fast here!
