  1. Glad to hop by, I love Buddy Holly, my mom used to play Buddy Holly's music on her classic turntable. Thanks for sharing! :)

  2. These remind me of my cousin when I was a kid he loved Buddy Holly and played his songs constantly I loved it ...classics

    Have a hollytastic week ;-)

  3. Great oldies. I haven't heard these in a long time, but I did happen upon "Oh, Boy!" already twice this morning. Thanks for dancing with us on Monday's Music Moves Me! PS: You had asked me about my FB cover page photo. I just saw that yesterday. Anywho, it's a picture of the Sunsphere at the World's Fair Park in to downtown Knoxville. We hosted the 1982 World's Fair Expo.

    1. I noticed the "Oh Boy!" replay, too. What can I say but "Great minds think alike!"

  4. buddy Holly - awesome! I thought of Oh Boy -- cannot believe I forgot about Peggy Sue. shame on me.

  5. Great Buddy Holly songs...Yeah, I sang along.

  7. Buddy Holly derserves so much more appreciation - he really was a music groundbreaker in pop/rock music. This past weekend PBS showed a (fundraiser!) salute to Buddy Holly concert featuring a lot of heavy hitters (Chris Issacs, Stevie Nicks etc) performing his songs and I must say I found it all somewhat unsatisfactory...

Why? Because while over the years many rock stars have made big hits using his songs - somehow no one was able to capture the pure magic of Buddy Holly performing his own songs!

Aside: I also loved the songs from the musical "Guys & Dolls": when I was growing up my Dad used to listen to this one - and many others all the time and he'd sometimes take me to see them performed on stage at all kinds of venues from local high school and amateur productions to bringing me along on business trips to NYC where his clients could always get us tickets to the top Broadway and Off-Broadway to see the REAL McCoys!

Oh - I especially loved Jerry Orbach in "Carnival" and the fabulous "FANTASTICKS" !!!

    1. Since I don't subscribe to any TV, I didn't know that PBS had a Buddy Holly tribute this last weekend. That was one great music talent that had his life cut so drastically short.

  8. Danielle, I am not sure what is going on but the last two weeks I have seen nothing but black screens on your page. Hmm..
Anyway, I am familiar with both songs and they are both great.
Buddy Holly's life cut too short.

    1. Interesting. I have no problem with them working for me on my 10 year old XP computer. I really have no idea on how to fix it. Must be a Blogspot thing. Have you tried a different browser?

  9. oh yes they do think alike don't they! My brother use to love that song Peggy Sue he was six years older than me so I got to hear all his music off his phonograph, and of course later came his stereo, which was non-stop in his room. So I got his era (50's/60's) & my mom's era got she loved music too (40's). So guess that why I'm so versatile with my music... I love it all!

  10. Thank you for sharing these Danielle.

Hope your week is going great!
