Emerson Creek Pottery Bakeware - Baking Dish & Pie Plate - Review & Giveaway - ends 12/12 US

I received one or more of the products mentioned below to facilitate an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. All opinions are 100% my own.  I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

I first heard of Emerson Creek Pottery long before I ever blogged.  I first found them on a very popular auction site, and fell in love with their work.  What did I find that is so great about Emerson Creek Pottery?  The first thing to tell you is that it is handmade right in here in the United States of America - in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Bedford, Virginia.

Founded in 1977 by Priscilla Palmer and Jim Leavitt, Emerson Creek Pottery has been producing pottery by hand with clay mixed onsite to their own specifications.  Each piece is handcrafted and hand painted by a skilled artisan.  No stencils or templates are ever used to create all of Priscilla's 13 patterns.  All the hand painting is executed with natural pigments by using a Japanese Sumi brush.  The details of the painting is just incredible.  The love of nature in every brushstroke is so visible!

For this holiday season, Emerson Creek's Cranberry pattern really spoke to me.  I am so thankful to Emerson Creek Pottery for giving us the opportunity to review two of their fine pieces of bakeware from their Cranberry Pottery Line: the 2 quart baking dish and a pie plate.  Each of these pieces live up to the Emerson Creek Pottery tradition.

The Cranberry design is so perfect for grace your holiday table with its festive notes of red and green set upon a creamy background.  The 2-quart Cranberry baking dish will be a wonderful addition to grace our Thanksgiving and Christmas table.  The Emerson Creek Pottery 2-quart capacity dish is the perfect size for any casserole such as the green bean and carrot casserole that we enjoy at both our Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations.  My daughter was quick to use this dish last week, and baked a chocolate souffle in it.  It baked perfectly and did not stick to the dish at all!

When it comes to the holiday desserts, pumpkin pie just rolls right into my thoughts.  What better to present to your guests than a pumpkin pie superbly baked in an Emerson Creek Cranberry Pie Plate!   We loved the wide brim this pie plate has as we found we could adorn our pumpkin pie with a beautiful border of hand painted autumn leaf pie crust.  As we cut out the slices of the pie, the pleasing cranberry design peaked out cheerily from under all that goodness.  Wouldn't your guest be impressed when served a pie in an Emerson Creek Pie Plate?  I know my guests for Thanksgiving will be when they are served an almost exact duplicate of the pumpkin pie shown above.

Emerson Creek Pottery is a proud sponsor of my 2013 Holiday Gift Guide, and I highly recommend that you purchase an item or more.  Each item in each of the 13 patterns is a beautiful work of handmade art.  These handcrafted items are very affordable, too!  A handmade 2-quart baking dish sells for only $26, and a handmade pie plate sells for only $24.50.  Beauty, high quality, non-toxic, lead-free, oven-proof, microwave, dishwasher safe, all the while being affordable, that is what Emerson Creek Pottery personifies in each and every one of their American made products.

Ready to purchase? Buy directly from the Emerson Creek Pottery website.  Orders over $100 get FREE UPS Ground Shipping to the lower 48 states.  Orders up to $100 get 50% off UPS Ground Shipping (and that's year round, too!).

  37. Definitely the Baking Dish (precisely because I don't really "bake" as in PIE - not because I wouldn't love to - just REALLY bad at it!)

The pattern is harder - because as a long time fan of Emerson Creek Pottery - I have A LOT of favorites! Topping my list right now are the:
    Go Green
    Copper Clay
    and good old fashioned:
    Dragonfly!

    Thanks
