Kauffman's Fruit Butters and Maple Syrup - Review and Giveaway - ends 2/5 US

I received the following products from Kauffman's Fruit Farm and Market below for free in the hopes that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. All opinions are 100% my own.

How many of you bake your own bread for your family and never buy bread at a store?  For years my husband and I have been baking our own bread.  We have developed our own recipes and have now passed them down to our adult children.   Our breads are soft and flavorful, and we like to eat them with good tasting spreads, jams, fruit and nut butters that are natural.

I found some delicious treats to spread on our bread from Kauffman's Fruit Farm and Market (and pour on our French Toast - more on that later).  What I first noticed about Kauffman's Fruit Farm and Market were their variety of fruit butters.  I am always on the hunt for a great tasting fruit butter that is made with either with no added sugar or with real sugar.  Most of what I find in the stores are heavily laced with high fructose corn syrup.  I know of what harm that can come from this artificial chemical lab created "sugar" and we avoid it like we would avoid anything poisonous.  This is not a worry with Kauffman's homemade fruit butters.

One of the items that I was sent was Kauffman's Homemade Fruit Butter Gift Box.  In this variety box was all four of the fruit flavors of fruit butters that Kauffman's offers: Apple Butter Spread, Pumpkin Butter, Peach Butter, and Pear Butter in 1/2 pint jars.  These fruit butters that we got are all made with added pure sugar, and were we ever eager to try them.

The first jar to open had to be apple butter.  We love this, and have such a hard time finding a good tasting one made with real sugar.  We hit the jackpot with Kauffman's Apple Butter Spread.  It is delicious with its Pennsylvania apples from Kauffman's own orchard combined with just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetened to perfection, this apple butter spread really pleases my family's taste buds.

Every years at Thanksgiving time we always hope that our stores may have pumpkin butter.  In the last few years, they have not stocked it, and we go home disappointed.  In our home, pumpkin is something that we stock all year round in our pantry.  Kauffman's Pumpkin Butter is really good and satisfying. This pumpkin butter is blended with cinnamon and sugar to create an almost pie-like flavor.  My husband says that is would be perfect as a filling for sweet bread at Easter, but by then, I will have to get another jar as it is going fast.

Peach Butter is a fruit spread that is new to me, but I am a peach fan.  I love peaches!  No fruit can compare to the tantalizing flavor of a peach for me.  Kauffman's has taken fresh peaches, captured their sweet succulent flavor, and created a smooth thick fruit butter from it.  It is really a satisfying way to start out my day.

Pears - I admit that they are not my favorite fruit, but I was amazed by the great flavor of the homemade Pear Butter from Kauffman's.  They have taken pears and blended them with apple cider. sugar, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and cinnamon and produced a great tasting fruit spread.  Pear butter, I have learned, is a Lancaster County favorite.  It's not something that is widely known here on the West Coast.  Because I live 'way out west,' I truly believe that I have been cheated out on some great tasting Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.  I really love Kauffman's Pear Butter, and is quite a favorite with me.  It perfectly pairs with peanut butter (another favorite!).

The other item that I was sent to review from Kauffman's was pure and natural Maple Syrup.  If you do not treat your family to pure maple syrup, then you need to.  The maple syrup from Kauffman's has a good maple flavor with the right amount of sweetness that just sings to your taste buds.  The Pure and Natural Maple Syrup comes from maple trees in New York state harvested when the snow is still on the ground.  This last Sunday, we enjoyed this whole jar of maple syrup on pancakes.  Oh, it was so good!

Pure maple syrup is so much better than those pancake syrups that you buy in the store that are little more than just flavored high fructose corn syrup (what I commonly refer to as fake chemical sugar).  There are many health benefits to maple syrup - just do a search on the internet.  Real maple syrup is perfect on not only pancakes, waffles, and French toast, but is also good on vanilla ice cream, yoghurt, granola, muffins, and sweet potatoes.  The maple syrup from Kauffman's is one of the most delicious we have ever tasted!

While I was working on the pictures for this post, there was what seemed to be a never ending parade of everyone to grab the toast spread with the fruit butters that I had been getting ready to take pictures of.  I had to keep making more and more toast for the fruit butter pictures.  It ended up that we lunched on a whole loaf of bread and the jars ended being half-emptied.  We all just enjoyed Kauffman's Fruit Butters!
Not only can you find fruit butters and maple syrup at Kauffman's, but they have quite a variety of other fresh products from their nearby 100 acres or fruit orchards in nearby Bird-In-Hand, Pennsylvania, like apple cider and a host of other great goodies.  My family and I are very grateful to have discovered these great items.  On our shopping list - more maple syrup from Kauffman's Fruit Farms and Market!

Would you like to order some fruit butters or maple syrup from Kauffman's?

The Homemade Fruit Butter Gift Box that I received to review is only $16.95 plus shipping.  I checked out the shipping, and found it to be quite reasonable even to ship all the way here to California.   If you would prefer to have no sugar varieties, Kauffman's do make their fruit butters with no sugar added.  Check out all the varieties of Kauffman's Homemade Fruit Butters.

The Pure Natural Maple Syrup from Kauffman's Fruit Farm and Market is available in five different sizes: from 10 oz. to 1 gallon.  The price for a 10 oz - 1/2 pint jar is only $6.40 plus shipping.

As an avid shopper who loves to find bargains, I truly believe that the prices from Kauffman's are competitive with those from grocery stores.  But there is a plus to buying from Kauffman's - you are getting high quality products, homemade - which means processed minimally, and you are supporting American Farmers!
