This Mother's Day Spread Some Happiness with a Handmade Gift from Novica - Review & Giveaway - ends 5/11 WW

I received a $50 Gift Code from Novica for this review.  No other form of compensation was received.  All opinions are 100% my own.

There isn't a more wonderful gift in my eyes than one that is handmade.  It just seems much more personal.  At Novica, their whole site is devoted to handmade articles made from artisans all over the world.  I like buying items at a fair price from people in other countries.  I know that by my purchase, I am helping to support their families - and I get something nice in return.

In return for this honest review of Novica, I was given a $50 gift code to buy a little something for myself.  I chose the Chiang Mai Bouquet Lapis Lazuli Earrings.  (Yes, my favorite type of jewelry - earrings).  These are a very feminine earrings enhanced with gold vermeil over sterling silver.  Dangling from the bottom is bright blue lapis lazuli, the symbol of truth and the gem of dreams.   These earrings were designed by Khun Boom of Thailand.   I really love the style that she puts into her jewelry.  This is my second pair of earrings that I have from this artisan that I bought from Novica.  The first pair of hers that I got are the Sublime Thai gold vermeil amethyst chandelier earrings.  The Chiang Mai Bouquet Lapis Lazuli and the Sublime Thai earrings both looks and feel great on!

Novica is my first destination when I want to look for jewelry.  Their selection seems limitless.   I literally could spend hours looking at all the handmade jewelry, and dreaming of how it would look on me.   Perhaps your mom would love some jewelry from Novica for Mother's Day.  There is such a lovely selection of earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces.  To the left is just one of the many sterling silver necklaces that Novica has to offer.  Prices for the sterling silver necklaces start in the low $20 range.  Mom would be very pleased with a nice addition to her jewelry box.

Speaking of jewelry boxes, Novica has a beautiful assortment of handcrafted jewelry boxes, too!   There are simple jewelry boxes to very complex ones.  They are not the jewelry boxes you see in our malls, but lovingly hand carved and finished with a unique one-of-kind look.

I don't want you to think that Novica is only about jewelry.  They have a gorgeous selection of leather handbags that are just as stylish as some bags as some designers bags that come with a costly label.  I just love the smell, feel, and look of a real leather handbag, don't you?

Perhaps your mother would like something more in the line of serving ware for Mother's Day.   I am a tea person myself, and I found myself looking at all the lovely teapots.  Then my eyes came across some of-so-pretty selection of blue drinking glasses.   As with the blue lapis lazuli earrings that I bought, blue glassware is also a fave.  I just love the calmness of blue.

While shopping at Novica sometime last year, I saw that they have this option to curate products.  I found out that this is a great way to bring more exposure to your favorite artisans by curating their treasures into collections that will appear throughout the website.  It's easy to curate a collection at Novica.  I do have two collections that I have curated - one of jewelry that I liked and the other is the Novica jewelry that I personally own.  I really need to get some time to go back to Novica and curate a collection of my favorite artisan, Khun Boom.  Here's the link to my curated collections: me.novica.com/royalegacy

Don't forget to get a gift box when you order!
 Mother's Day Gift Idea

There are so many great gifts for mom just waiting for you to choose from at Novica.  Buying an item from Novica at a Fair Trade price, is helping to spread happiness to others by empowering people to have a sustainable income from their craft, by preserving their artistic traditions for future generations, and you connect with artisans from all over the world.  You aren't just giving these artisans a handout or charity to help support their family, you are creating work for them so that they can hold their heads up high and be proud of what they do to support their families.  Mom will really appreciate a gift from Novica!

Shop Novica and support local artisans throughout the world!  Connect and converse with Novica by following them on Facebook and Twitter.

With so many thanks to Novica, I have a $50 Gift Code to Novica to give to one of my lucky readers.  This gift code does cover shipping!  This giveaway will end on May 11, 2014, and is open to everyone.  By entering this giveaway, you agree to the terms and conditions at the bottom of the GT form.  Good Luck!

  54. O' Dear Dear Dearheart Danielle:

I LOVE Novica! I mean I love it so much that there are currently over 650 items on my Novica Wish List. I treasure the jewelry, bags/totes, accessories, wood and metal scupltures and wall art hanging....I have purchased at Novica over the years (many!) Their wonderful goods/creations from all over the world make for outstanding gifts too!

Over the past six months since my 92 year old Mom moved (far away!) I have sent her THREE gift of love from Novica: An exquisite black wood sculpture capturing the endless, infinite, spiritual and eternal Bond between mother and child by artist Wayan Rendah of Bali/Java; next another wood sculpture called "A Mother's Love" (by Nyoman Karsa also of Bali/Java) and this one exudes the love, spiritual connection and joyful sense of PLAYFULNESS between a mom and young child - it is exquisitely GRACEFUL.

And this week as I just visited Mom (and Sis) a few weeks ago and am now how tending to my Honey/Hubby who JUST had total hip replacement surgery) anyway, For MOTHERS' Day ~ I sent her a recyled metal wall changing sculpture (that I just love ~ and have one myself!) called "NOAH'S ARK" by (love this!) sculpturer, none other than MARCO POLO (!) of Mexico...

Should I be SO fortunate as to win this VERY generous giveaway/prize - among the items I would consider purchasing (finally!) are the Dichroic Art Glass Jewely Set "Sophisticate" or "Autumn" by Debora & Marco in Mexico, One of John Barrows (the Andes) amazing wood sculptures - probably either "Whimsical Cat" or "Cat Mischief" - although there are many others I would love to have too. And one of my favorite beaded jewelry maker (in Thailand) Nareerat (I also love the marvelous creations of/by Danai, Anusara, Sasina, Busarin & Khun Boom - to name a few...!) Anyway - armed with a $50 GC (and few bucks of my own) I could probably afford to buy two of Nareerat's exquisite necklaces that I've been daydreaming about for a very long time now.

THANK YOU DANIELLE - Thank you so very very much.

PS - I always for vote you on PF and Top Mommy Blogs and anywhere else I can find!
