Our Ultimate Organic Sandwiches With Organic Oroweat Bread - Recipes & Giveaway - ends 12/5 US

At least once every two weeks we will enjoy sandwiches for dinner.  They are so easy and quick to prepare.  Having natural and organic ingredients are the keys to the perfect sandwich.  What happy news for us when I heard that Oroweat, a leader of great tasting breads that are filled with simple and nutritious ingredients, is baking All Organic breads.  We are all thankful that Oroweat supplied us with coupons to try all three varieties, information, and a $25 gift card to make some ultimate sandwiches.  The opinions expressed in this post are my own and do not reflect the opinions of Oroweat.

There are three different Oroweat varieties of these USDA Certified Organic breads: Premium White; 100% Whole Wheat; and Grains and Seeds.  I've checked, and all the ingredients are organic and that means Non-GMO!   With each loaf, the bread is soft and delicious.  On shelves everywhere, I am finding these great new breads from Oroweat.

With these new Oroweat Organic varieties, we were challenged to make some great tasting sandwiches.  Now my husband, the head chef of our family, does not take a challenge lying down.  He came up with three great sandwiches for each variety: one vegetarian friendly, one vegan friendly, and one for the meat lovers.  Just a little warning, my husband was once a pro-chef, he never measures anything, he just knows how much is perfect.

Enlarge Me
This first sandwich made with the Oroweat Organic 100% Whole Wheat bread.  The texture of this bread has a nice nutty flavor, so soft, dotted with cracked organic 100% wheat, wheat flour, bran, and gluten, decorated with organic wheat flakes, organic vinegar, with the sweeteners of organic sugar and organic honey, and in particular notice, organic soybean oil (that means non-GMO).  We knew this was the perfect bread for our meat lover's sandwich.

On our meat lover's sandwich, we only use uncured lunch meats for our sandwiches as we do not want all those nitrates in our diet, and it's way more natural.  With slices of chicken, turkey, ham, and beef, along with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, then piled high with fresh organic lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, this sandwich is a feast unto itself.  The Oroweat Organic 100% Whole Wheat Bread was really the finishing touch.

The Organic Premium White from Oroweat is a nice soft and hearty white bread filled with good flavor.  The ingredients of this Certified Organic Premium White bread is filled with the all organic ingredients of wheat flour, sugar, soybean oil, wheat gluten, oat fiber, honey vinegar, and sea salt.  I particularly like this toasted with jam.

With this bread, my husband came up with a triple decker grilled triple cheese sandwich.  This grilled cheese is lacto-ovo vegetarian friendly and is just oozes with cheese and grilled onions.

Three-By-Three Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Take a few slices of red onion and saute them until soft with olive oil.

Meanwhile, have slices of cheddar cheese, Monterey jack, and mozzarella cheese ready.

Melt a few tablespoons of butter and mix with a few tablespoons of olive oil.  Take three slices of Organic Oroweat Premium White Bread.  With a pastry brush, lightly brush the olive oil/butter mixture onto on side of two slices of bread.  On the third slice of bread, lightly brush both sides with olive oil. Season all slices with garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper or any other seasonings you would like to taste.

On med/low to medium heat, place the first two slices buttered/olive oil side down.  On one slice, put cheddar cheese.  On the other slice, place Monterey jack and mozzarella cheese.  You will be melting and cooking each one individually until the cheese is melted, so watch that the heat is not too high so that the bread does not burn.  The last slice of bread that is buttered/olive oiled on both sides, grill each side until golden brown.

Once your cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown, it is time to assemble the sandwich.  Take the cheddar side and put down on the plate and place the grilled onion on top, then place the two-sided grilled slice on top, after place the Monterey jack side on top.

The Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread chock full of a variety of organic seeds: flax seeds, sunflower kernals, sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, and millet.  We all love this bread, and is actually the family favorite out of the three new organic varieties that Oroweat has come out with.  The Grains and Seeds variety made plain toast into great toast, and a plain sandwich into something seems like it came from a fancy bistro.

Here is my husband's sandwich masterpiece of the day, a Vegan Red and White Bean Salad Sandwich on Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds Bread.  He is truly a master at making vegetarian and vegan dishes.  He never follows recipes, they all just come to him when the time comes.   The Grains and Seeds completed this red and white bean sandwich perfectly and added just the right flavors.

Vegan Warm Red and White Bean Salad Sandwich on Toasted Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds Bread Recipe

What you will need:
1 can (15oz) of organic white beans - drained and rinsed
1 can (15oz) of organic red beans - drained and rinsed
1 to 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 Cup chopped red onion
3 tablespoons of chopped green chilies
Several slices of red onion
2 cloves of garlic minced
1/4 cups white wine
Salt
Pepper
organic alfalfa sprouts
organic green leaf lettuce
organic radicchio
freshly grated organic carrot
sliced olives
dried cranberries
your favorite organic salsa
2 slices of toasted Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread

In a small frying pan, saute in the extra virgin olive oil the chopped red onion, the minced garlic and the chopped green chilies until tender and the onions are translucent.

In a saucepan, combine the entire contents of the frying pan - the onion, garlic, and green chilies, with the red and white beans, the white wine, and salt and pepper to taste.

Cook until hot, stirring occasionally, being careful not to mash the beans too much.

Once the bean mixture is hot, it is time to assemble the assemble the sandwich.  On one slice of freshly toasted bread, spread the hot bean mixture.

Then add on top of this the sliced red onions, sliced tomatoes, alfalfa, green leaf lettuce, raddichio, sliced olives, some grated carrot, and a tablespoon of dried cranberries.   Put your favorite organic salsa on the last slice of toasted Grains and Seeds bread.

This recipe will make three to four sandwiches.
