Expand Your Young Artist's Future Into the World of Computer Graphics With the Huion H610 Pro Graphics Drawing Pen Tablet - Review

Two of my daughters inherited their grandmother's skill at artistry.  They are always sketching some new design.  Yet in today's world, just handing them a sketch pad with some pencils is old hat.  Today's artists have expanded their horizons into computer graphics.

Computer graphics is the wave of the future for artists who want to expand the scope of their visions.  Anyone can draw on their computer with a mouse, but an artist likes to be exact in their drawings.  What tool does an artist need in this new world of computer graphics?  A graphing tablet.  One of my daughters (my physics graduate) and I went looking for a good graphing tablet that would be great for both beginners and professionals.  This is where we discovered the Huion H610 Pro Graphics Drawing Pen Tablet.

With both beginners and professionals in mind, the Huion H610 Pro Graphics Drawing Pen Tablet is the tool that allows you to draw directly to your computer.  It easily connects to your computer via a USB port.

Shipped well protected
The Huion H610 Pro graphing tablet is a great way to learn how to draw and how colors blend on your computer. You can draw and paint all you want only without the mess and the extra cost of painting materials. If you are already an advance painter/sketcher the quality the Huion H610 Pro is a great start creating the pictures you desire.  The wonder of a graphing tablet lets you create a lot more pictures in less time than it would be with conventional artist tools because you will now have the aid of Photoshop or whatever favorite program you use.

The specifications are unique with such a modest price tag.  With most tablets at this price you would be lucky to get half of what this features. The tablet is ultra thin and weighs about 1.6 pounds, but is hard and inflexible, which gives you the option of writing on a non-hard surface or your lap. The active area of the tablet is made to give the impression that you are writing on actual paper.

The tablet features 8 pre-programmed Express Keys buttons; however you are still able to customize their capabilities. Running along the top part of the active area you have 16 Function Keys, which are buttons you tap on with your pen. These keys, including the express keys, can be defined to various things such as opening a program, a network function like “back”, “forward”, or “stop”. You can make them links to website, use them as multimedia functions, or whatever hot key you wish.

The H610 Pro comes with a Huion P80 rechargeable pen, which is slimmer and lighter than most pens that require a battery. The best part of a rechargeable pen is you don't need to charge it constantly because it lasts 800 hours after every 2-hour charge. The pen will automatically go to sleep if it is not being used, but will wake up at the pressing of pen’s tip. The pen has two buttons that can be defined to be two of the three buttons on a mouse, i.e. right click, left click, middle click. In addition to the tip in the pen, you are given four spares. The reason for the additional tips is because after long use the pen’s tips, which are made of stiff polyester, will eventually wear down and will inhibit your ability to draw. The Huion H610 Pro can be used on various programs, such as PhotoShop, Comic Studio, Corel Painter, Microsoft Word, and a lot more.

My daughter did a video review of the Huion H610 Pro so that you can see for yourself how easy it is to work with.  It only took her less than a week to learn how to use the tablet.

  1. My Mom used to do art all the time-she is an artist and if I thought she would like this I would get it for her. Yes, she is 92 but is amazing on a computer! I also have a niece at this point who teaches art on the graduate level I think and although she may already know about this I will be letting her know just in case!

  3. Looks like it would be fun to use even for someone not really into art. And for folks who want to do graphics for games it might be really nice. I can see designing a dungeon on there.
