Sleep Better With the Mediflow Waterbase Fiber Pillow - Review & Giveaway - Holiday Gift Guide - ends 12/17 US

For the past few years I have been sleeping on a memory foam contoured pillow.  At first it seemed just fine, but for about the last six months, I have been frequently waking due to neck pain.  I just have not been getting good sleep.  In the morning my neck is creaky and sometimes the pain ends up going up and around to cause a small migraine.  How am I supposed to write?

For the last month, I have been sleeping on a new very different type of pillow.  It has a pouch inside that you fill with water!  You heard me right, you put water inside of this pillow.  It is a special therapeutic pillow from Mediflow.

When I first heard about the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow, I was a bit skeptical about it.  Yet, I was tired every morning after a bad night's sleep of tossing and turning (myself and my old memory foam pillow) around.  I had hope that this would work for me.  You know what?  It has!  And nothing restores your mind and body like a good night's sleep.

This innovative sleep pillow has been clinically shown to improve the quality of your sleep. Other orthopedic pillows that have never been clinically shown effective make huge claims about increasing comfort and rest, but the Mediflow Waterbase is an orthopedic pillow that has been clinically shown to improve quality of sleep unlike any other bed pillow on the market.  Tested in 1997 (Arch Phys Med Rehabil 1997; 78:193-8), the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow was found to increase pain relief and improved quality of sleep.

It's all due to the exclusive waterbase design.  On the top layer is super soft hyopallergenic fiber layer that cushions your head.  Between the fiber layer and the water pouch, there is an insulator to prevent heat loss.  The easy-to-fill waterbase pouch does give your neck gentle and responsive support all night long.

The pillow is very simple to fill.  The water pouch is fillable on the bottom of the pillow.  Included is a funnel that screws on to the valve opening.   The pillow can be filled for the degree of firmness that is desired - 2 to 5 quarts of water.  Since I am used to a big plump memory foam pillow, and I desire firmness, I filled my pillow with the whole 5 quarts of water.  The water can be left in the pillow for up to a year, and then it should be changed.  Because I have well water, I did add a little bleach to the water to prevent any bacteria from growing.  (Have tap water? Tap water already has chlorine added to prevent bacterial growth.)

After the pillow is filled with the amount of water desired, gently push and flatten the upper portion to remove as much air as possible from the water pouch.  This will prevent the water in the pillow from sloshing around while you sleep.  Once as much as the air has been taken out, replace the cap.  The pillow is all ready to be slept on.

Here it is, plump, full of water and all ready to be slept on.  I didn't think I would believe it, but it is one of the most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on!

In the clinical study that I cited above, the doctors of the study found that subjects fell asleep the fastest on the Mediflow pillow than on the others that were tested.  It was found that most subjects stayed asleep longer with fewer times of waking in the night.  It was concluded that the overall quality of sleep was significantly increased.

Another great detail about the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow - It's machine washable and tumble dry!

Mediflow has sold over 4 million of their waterbase pillows.  Most of their business comes from word of mouth.  There are many doctors that recommend this pillow.  Then there are the people who have improved their quality of sleep with this holistic, clinically proven product such as: chronic neck pain victims, whiplash injury patients, chemo therapy patients, sleep apnea sufferers, and anyone who just wishes to have a better night's sleep.

If you are having trouble sleeping at night, waking up with a stiff or sore neck, tossing and turning all night, I highly recommend a Mediflow Waterbase Pillow.  It's only $49.99 for one or $69.99 for a two pack, and can be purchased right at Mediflow online.
